Short Course: Remote Sensing Images Processing for Disasters Response – Use of CBERS-4 and Sentinel images and INPE's and ESA's Tools

The GEOINFO series (Brazilian Symposium on Geoinformatics) is an annual conference for exploring ongoing research, development and innovative applications on geographic information science and related areas. The program usually includes Keynote Speakers, Technical Sessions, 1 papers presentations, keynote speakers, software and apps demonstrations and a short courses and tutorials.

In 2018, in a partnership with CEOS WGCapD, INPE and ESA, Dr. Laercio Namikawa will be offering the short course: Remote Sensing Images Processing for Disasters Response – Use of CBERS-4 and Sentinel images and INPE's and ESA's Tools.

The course will present digital image processing techniques for identifying damages and producing maps in support of disaster response, as well as, the use of Sentinel data and ESA tools for Disaster mapping. TerraView and SPRING, INPE's free and open source tools, and ESA's toolboxes GEP (Geohazards Exploitation Platform) and SNAP (Sentinel Application Platform) have been used during hands-on activities.

Registrations to the symposium are opened:
