National security is one of the engines of Canada’s activities in space. In recent years, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA, a CEOS Member Agency) advanced the field of civil security and disaster risk management in Canada through partnerships with industry, universities, and government. These partnerships focus on the needs of organizations working in the civil security field and promote the integration of operational Earth observation (EO) technologies and services, including data processing, methods, applications, demonstrations, and more. These innovations and solutions help us better understand disaster risks and mitigate the consequences of disasters, such as floods, forest fires, landslides, water pollution, train accidents, and coastal storms. National security is one of the engines of Canada’s activities in space.
